Legally qualified, Paul has over 15 years of commercial experience in the Public and Private sectors across several markets. He specialises in the negotiation and subsequent management of major IT services and Business Process Outsourcing contracts.
He has shaped and led large bids, negotiated, drafted and managed numerous high-value complex IT and BPO contracts, SLAs and supply-chain agreements for clients such as HP, Network Rail, EDS, Fujitsu, Siemens, Unilever and A4e at all phases of the contract lifecycle.
He has advised clients on blue-chip private and government projects including DWP, Child Support Agency and the MoD on a variety of public sector and business-to-business deals and accounts in the UK and continental Europe.
Paul is very experienced in managing commercial relationships including multi-vendor contracting models, partnerships, teaming arrangements and JVs. Skilled in managing contracts post-award in business as usual and transition / transformation scenarios.
Having been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for over 10 years he also has considerable experience in litigation, disputes & claims management.
Paul is an international conference speaker and trainer on Commercial and Contract Management topics having trained over 300 Commercial Managers on three continents.
A columnist and commentator in numerous publications including Supply Management magazine, Computer Weekly and IACCM’s newsletter, with over 30 pieces published. He has recently been working with the IACCM on a Contract Management book due to be published in 2011.
Paul has been a returning guest lecturer at Manchester University’s School of Business on its MBA and MSc Commercial Management programmes since 2003.
