CMD working in Singapore

CMD Founding Director Paul Carter Hemlin will be presenting two 2 day training courses in Singapore in March 2012. The events are being organised by IBC Asia is a division of Informa plc, the largest publicly owned organiser of conferences and courses in the world.

Paul will be giving training on the subjects of Service Level Agreements and also Tender preparation & evaluation / Bid Writing. He has extensive experience in these areas from working in a number of market sectors as diverse as the Construction industry to IT Outsourcing and has already trained over 300 Commercial and Contract managers on all aspects of the contracting lifecycle. Paul has been a returning guest lecturer on the MBA and MSC Commercial Management programmes at Manchester Universityâ€™s Business School since 2003.

CMD Founder Paul Carter Hemlin has had an article published in Augustâ€™s edition of Supply Management magazine, the monthly publication of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). He was asked to share his experience to provide some practical guidance on avoiding contract disputes when drafting a contract and ITT. Paul offered advice in the following areas:

2. Assessment Criteria
3. Supply Chain Rights
4. Pay-when-paid clauses
5. Standards and Policies

Paul has been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for over 10 years and has experience of numerous contractual disputes. He also has a Master’s degree in this area. CMD Company Secretary runs for Charity

Rachel Hemlin CMD’s Company Secretary successfully completed the 10KM Race for All in York on Sunday 31 July. Running a personal best time of 57:39 through the streets of York, Rachel was amongst a field of over 6,200 runners raising money for charity. The route was lined with supporters and well-wishers and was a great occasion for all. Rachel raised a total of £400 for childrens charity Sparks. Well done Rachel!!

CMD’s Finance Director runs 10K race for charity

CMD Finance Director Rachel Hemlin successfully completed the York 10KM Race for Life on Sunday 27 June. There were over 2,000 runners at York Racecourse for both the 10KM and 5KM events on one of the hottest days of the year. Rachel raised over £250 for Cancer Research UK.

CMD Director is the Keynote speaker at the Gulf’s most prestigious Contracts event

CMD Director Paul Carter Hemlin has just returned from speaking at the largest gathering of contracts professionals in the Middle East in recent years.

Paul was the International Keynote Speaker and was given the honour of opening the 7th Annual Contracts conference in Dubai on 30 January. His presentation entitled ‘Managing contracts in a Downturn’ gave the delegates a useful and practical insight into how Contract Managers can add value and make a positive difference during the current economic climate.

After two days of conference, Paul ran two all-day training workshops. The first being a Service Levels Agreement masterclass, a key topic in all performance contracts where Paul is renowned as an international expert and innovative thinker. His second workshop dealt with ‘Adding value to major contracts’ where Paul advised on how Contracts professional could use best practice to improve the outcome of the deals their organisation sign.

CMD has strong ties with the UAE and has a growing presence in the region. We are currently in the process of enhancing our service offering in this important marketplace.
